Lenora Payne, established Technology Group Solutions, LLC (TGS) in 2005, based on her belief in providing a full spectrum of information technology infrastructure solutions with integrity, honesty, dependability and a customer centric philosophy.
Payne began her career in IT over 30 years ago in the word processing data equipment field. Her background includes operations management, employee training, sales support and human resources. Prior to her founding TGS, Payne held positions at GE Capital Information Technology Solutions, MicroAge Computer Center, and other IT resellers, in various senior positions.
TGS provides superior customer service and unmatched value due in part to their strong vendor relationships and strategic partnerships. Doug Floersch has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, with an extensive background in data center, network, and solution sales. Doug currently serves as CTO of Technology Group Solutions, a leading solutions and consultative technology partner. As a founding member of TGS, he has a reputation of a relentless pursuit of superior service and execution for customers.
Over the past 10 years with TGS, he has been able to successfully lead the organization to an astounding $80 million in revenue. Doug has been influential in the growth of TGS developing a highly qualified team, driving a single vision to be the best service focused IT organization in the mid-west. Under Doug‘s direction, TGS has been recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of the fastest growing businesses in Kansas City.
In the past, Doug served as an Enterprise architect for Unix systems. Doug has a passion for traveling, camping, and fine foods. As a born and raised Kansas City native, Doug is an avid KC Royals and Chiefs fan.
Chief Technology Officer
Cary Shiner has over 25 years experience in IT executive roles, with an extensive background in IT operations and data center engineering. He encompasses extensive experience driving transformation into large, complex organizations. Cary is currently serving as the head of services of TGS.
During his tenure, TGS services has grown from just a few engineers to over 20 seasoned consultants; serving over 100 companies in the Kansas City area. Cary is responsible for scaling the company’s services and operations divisions to support growth. Cary has served with the Board of Directors for regional colleges IT departments; assisting with developing and improving young students education in the IT field.
In the past, Cary served in several senior leadership roles at Sprint. Throughout his management of 240K+ Data Centers, Cary was responsible for the engineering and architecture of all infrastructure and onsite operations, spread across 8 sites nationwide. Cary was directly responsible for transforming Sprint’s infrastructure and data center architectures; including private cloud services and millions of cost savings through virtualization and aggressive vendor and expense management.
As a proven thought leader in the industry, Cary is continuing to transform organizations to adopt new technologies and services to improve the business’ bottom line. Cary received his Bachelor of Science in executive studies at Duke University. Cary currently lives in Basehor, Kansas on a self-sustaining hobby farm. Cary enjoys gardening, running and spending time with his favorite hometown team, The Kansas City Royals.
Chief Operating Officer
Tammi has 24 years of experience with resellers focusing on IT Procurement, with an extensive background in supply chain, accounting, asset management and customer satisfaction. Tammi’s focus is in IT infrastructure and solution procurement. An expert in Supply Chain business processes, Tammi currently serves as Materials Manager of Technology Group Solutions and has been with TGS since October 2012.
Tammi was formerly the procurement officer at a local IT provider for over 18 years. She managed all aspects for supply operations, material management, purchasing, planning, inventory management, logistics and business process management.
As a mid-west native, Tammi is a Nascar fan and prefers to spend her time away from the office either fishing or traveling.
Don Newsom has twenty years of management experience, with over 18 years in various IT roles in the Kansas City area with emphasis in ITIL functions supporting Change, Incident, and Problem Management. Don is currently serving as the Director of Account and Project Management at Technology Group Solutions.
Don has participated in three different leadership programs and is a student of strategic leadership and occupational psychology. In 2015-2016, he served as the Chairman of the Sprint Next Leaders Program after participating in several roles in the program for the previous four years. Don also is certified in Lean Six Sigma and has experience managing an Operational Excellence program that saved more than 15 million dollars in revenue during a three-year span.
Don has served in several nonprofit and charity board positions and is currently an active supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Mid America chapter in Kansas City.
Director, Account Management
Andrew Kluver has more than 18 years of experience in the technology industry where he has held sales and leadership positions with EMC, NetApp, HPE and Oracle at both the regional and national level. He is an accomplished leader with a proven record of leading from the front to create and execute business strategies that secure sustainable long-term customer partnerships. Andrew serves as Executive Vice President of Sales and General Manager for TGS and is currently focusing on TGS's expansion into the northern United States.
A native of Omaha and proud alumni of the University of Nebraska, Andrew is a big Husker fan and also enjoys anything fitness related and fishing.
Executive Vice President of Sales and General Manager
Mike Thompson has over 20 years of experience in various IT roles in the Kansas City area with an emphasis on Data Center Architecture. He has years of experience planning and designing IT spaces to utilize them to their max potential. Mike is currently serving as Director of Network Services.
In the past, Mike was a part of the Sprint Data Center services teams at multiple sites around the Kansas City Metro Area for 10 years. He was also a part of the Implementation, Planning and Design teams at the newly built Tier 4 US Bank Data Center in Olathe, Kansas. Working as a Senior Network Planner, Mike assisted in designing and implementing solutions from the ground up. With extensive knowledge in Data Center design, he works with many companies across the Kansas City area to improve efficiencies via cutting edge ideas and solutions.
Mike was born and raised in the Kansas City area. He is an avid golfer and follower of the both the Chiefs and Royals.
Director of Network Services
Richard G. Long
Richard has 32 years of field experience in technology and communications. A graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology, Richard has an engineering background. He spent 11 years with Sprint Corporation and helped launch their first CDMA Cellular network. He went on to lead their network operations support center, and Support Systems Engineering team. He moved into Sales in 1999 with Fore Systems, and subsequently held senior sales roles with Cisco Systems, Fortinet, A10 Networks, VMware, and Sacramento-based start-up Gluware. Over the past 21 years Richard has a proven track record of establishing and driving new business relationships and alliance partnerships with major mobile and wireline carriers, managed service and cloud providers, large enterprise customers, and channel partners. In addition to a very successful sales career, Richard has years of success developing strategic partnerships and go-to-market alliance relationships between multiple partners having similar market and business objectives.
Richard is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and an Army veteran. He’s married with four children. He’s active in the community as a long-time volunteer of Operation Breakthrough, Harvesters, and Habitat for Humanity.

Vivica Ballew has over 25 years of experience in the Accounting and Human Resources field. Although new to the IT industry, her many years spent managing the operation of a successful fire and water damage catastrophe restoration company are an asset for Technology Group Solutions.
Vivica enjoys gardening, family camping trips and working in her community with her women’s church group.
